HILL HOUSE

This multi-generational residence was designed for a family of four and two grandparents.

Set into a sloped site bordering the Middlesex Fells Reservation, the three-story home integrates seamlessly with its natural surroundings. The all-electric, geothermal house is carefully oriented on the lot to maximize southern solar exposure, ensuring energy efficiency while creating a bright, sunlit interior. The south-facing yard offers ideal space for gardening and for keeping an eye on the family’s two young boys.

Positioned on a corner lot, the home’s longest façade faces 2,220 acres of adjoining forest, offering expansive views and direct walk-out access to more than 100 miles of nature trails. Along the street, the narrower front façade maintains open sightlines between neighboring homes and features a louvered porch where the in-laws can relax and enjoy the afternoon sun.
