This gut-renovation of a 3-story brick townhouse dating from 1855 re-configures the original townhouse typology of front vs. back, public vs. service.  

Walls and programs are shifted so that everything becomes double-sided.  Porosity across the floor plan and multiple openings through the roof allow any zone to become a potential focal point for activity.
